What are different materials used for?

River Gravel

River Rocks

River gravel can help soil absorb water as well by preventing runoff. It can also ensure that soil on a sloped area remains packed in. Moreover, river rocks look beautiful placed around flowers and plants in your garden while they prevent topsoil erosion

610 Limestone

#610 Limestone is crushed limestone that packs down really well and is great for using it as a driveway/parking pad base. For use as road base or building pads in a new construction setting.  Rock sizes average 3/4 – 1 inch size pieces of grey crushed limestone.

#57 Limestone

Crushed Concrete

#57 limestone is a white, porous rock that can be used in many types of projects, from driveways to back-filling walls, and others. This ¾ inch and smaller size is popular for driveways, paths, drainage, back-filling retaining walls and road base.

Crushed concrete is a valuable resource on construction sites. Contractors can use crushed concrete in numerous projects, such as walkways, pathways, roadways, gravel driveways, raised garden beds, drainage projects, and erosion control retaining walls.

Crushed Asphalt

Crushed Asphalt

Crushed asphalt is also called pavement milling, asphalt milling, and recycled asphalt pavement. It’s essentially made of former asphalt roads or projects that have been crushed into gravel.

Once this has been properly crushed and screened, the end result is a very high-grade and high-quality aggregate that’s coated with asphalt cement.

River Silt

river silt

River silt is the fine bits of clay and sand that become sediment settling at the bottom of a river or lake. It is sandy material primarily used for spreading filling voids in the lawn.

Clay

What is a fill dirt? Fill dirt is a combination of natural materials (subsoil, rock, sand, clay, etc.) used to fill in a hole in the ground or to purposefully change the grade or elevation of a property.   Fill dirt is used during construction to create a save foundation for homes or any area that requires stability and will not move or shift. Roads and driveways are usually constructed using fill dirt as a foundation for durability.

Fill Sand

Fill sand

Fill sand is primarily used as a base material for concrete because it compacts so well. It is also commonly used to fill large holes.

Mason Sand

Mason Sand is often referred to as an all-purpose sand, as it has many different functions and capabilities. Mason sand is a fine graded sand that can be used as an infill between cracks of pavers, fill material, paver base, beach sand, sandbox material, volleyball courts and as a leveling agent.

Gabion Stone

Gabion Stone

Gabion stone is used to stabilize slopes and prevent erosion. It can be used to protect shorelines, stream banks, and other areas

30lb Riprap

30lb Riprap

Rip rap is crushed stone used to prevent erosion around sloped surfaces. You can use rip rap around ponds, parking lots, or other areas where water erosion is a threat. Rip rap absorbs and deflects rushing water before it can reach a protected area. The gaps between rip rap trap and reduce water flow, minimizing its ability to erode soil around a structure’s base or shoreline.
